What is NEBA?
What is the NASA Employees Benefit Association (NEBA)?
NASA Employee Benefit Association (NEBA is an employee-operated association established in 1952 that exists for the sole purpose of providing low cost, high quality life insurance and voluntary benefits for you, the NASA employee or military detailee. NEBA members have the opportunity to participate in an attractive package of MetLife® insurance and financial protection programs. Typically, NEBA insurance rates are lower than those provided by the Federal Employee Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI). NEBA coverage may be converted to an individual MetLife policy if you leave NASA employment. Since NEBA is a not-for-profit organization, which is self-funded and is controlled by your fellow NASA employees, you receive the maximum amount of coverage for your premium dollar. Currently, NEBA has more than 9,000 NASA employees and dependents enrolled with more than 1 billion dollars of coverage.
