SENIOR EXECUTIVE SERVICE (SES)

The NSSC provides support for all NASA SES appointments and SES Candidate Development Program packages. Once a candidate is selected for an SES appointment, the NSSC is responsible for finalizing the ECQ documents to be submitted for approval by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

SES ECQ Writing Process
NSSC works with the selectee to refine the required ECQ statement for submission to
the Qualifications Review Board (QRB). The ECQs are mandatory and describe the
leadership skills needed to succeed in the SES. Once ECQs are approved, they are sent to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for final approval of the SES candidate's appointment. If selected as an SES candidate, you will find additional resources and references below to assist you.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has a 90 business day deadline for submission of SES appointment packages to the QRB. The deadline is based on the closing date of the vacancy announcement. For more information:

(POC) listed on the position announcement. The POC will know the current status of 
your SES position application.

SES Candidate Development Program
The NSSC also works with members of the NASA SES Candidate Development
